
Taron Egerton is a Welsh star actor who was born on 10 November 1989 in Birkenhead, Merseyside, England. He has received a Golden Globe Award and has been nominated before for a Grammy Award and two British Academy Film Awards.
Egerton started acting while at age 15 before graduating from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in 2012. He became popular after he starred as spy recruit Gary “Eggsy” Unwin in the action comedy film Kingsman: The Secret Service (2014) and its sequel Kingsman: The Golden Circle (2017).

Egerton has starred in many biographical films, where he was featured as a military officer Edward Brittain in the drama Testament of Youth (2014.) Also, the titular ski-jumper in the sports film Eddie the Eagle was filmed in 2016.
He was featured with the singer Elton John in the musical Rocketman (2019) which earned him the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Motion Picture Musical or Comedy. The miniseries Black Bird was filmed in 2022, and he was also featured in it.
Early life
Egerton‘s mom worked in social services while his father operated a bed-and-breakfast near Liverpool. Egerton‘s parents hail from Liverpool. Even though that Egerton was born in England, he believes he is Welsh “through and through” and is fluent in both Welsh and English. Egerton is named “Thunder” in Welsh and has two younger half-sisters.

When Egerton was two years old, his parent divorced and he was taken care of by his mom who was based on the Welsh Island of Anglesey. At Anglesey, Egerton attended primary school before they moved to Aberystwyth when he was 12 years old.
When his mom relocated, it wasn’t easy on him as it made him feel lonely because he was deprived of his friends. In his remark, he explained it as “as much about trying to be social and make friends as it was an interest in acting”. He was enrolled in the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art where he graduated in 2012.
