Basics Of Star Trek Fleet Command

Before you get started with the game, you need to learn some of the basics.

User Interface (UI)

First things first, let’s talk about the buttons and screens you’ll see. These buttons at the bottom right of your screen will help you get places and do stuff.

Resources

You’ll need stuff to build and upgrade your base and ships, kind of like collecting coins in a video game. Figure out where to find these resources, what they do, and how to grab them. Without resources, your space adventure won’t go very far.

Missions

Completing missions and events gets you rewards and moves the story forward. So, always keep an eye on the quests and adventures in the game.

Ships And Combat

In space, you’ll run into enemies and opportunities. In this post, you will learn about the different types of ships you can command and how to use them in battles. Winning battles means you’re doing it right.

Officers

Officers are the heroes in your Starfleet crew. They make your ships better and give you abilities.

Upgrading Your Base

Your base is like your spaceship’s home where you’ve got buildings and things in there. This post will walk you through them, and to protect your base from enemies, and maybe conquer other bases if you’re feeling adventurous.

Star Trek Fleet Command Ships

Ships are the bread and butter of your Star Trek Fleet Command adventure. They play a huge role in exploring the galaxy and battling foes.

Types Of Ships

Not all ships are created equal. Just like cars come in different types, each ship has its strengths and weaknesses. For example:

• Survey Ships: These aren’t great in combat, but they’re excellent for mining resources.
• Interceptors, Explorers, and Battleships: These are your main combat ships, and each has its unique strengths.

Interceptors are great against battleships while battleships are strong against explorers. These advantages work in both player-versus-environment (PVE) and player-versus-player (PVP) situations.

Blueprints And Building Ships

To construct new ships, you need blueprints. Some ships might require extra research or a higher-level shipyard, even if you have enough blueprints.

You can collect blueprints by completing missions, participating in events, or shopping in the faction store. When you’re ready to build, tap the “ships” button on the top left of your screen in map view. If you need more blueprints, the game will tell you where to find them.

Upgrading Ships

If you don’t want your ships to be stuck in the past, you can upgrade them by tapping on a ship at the bottom of your screen, then clicking “manage” and “upgrade.”

You’ll use Ship XP to level them up, and upgrading specific ship components boosts their stats. When you tier up a ship, it becomes even more powerful.

Locating Your Ships

As you collect more ships and explore farther reaches of the galaxy, it can be easy to lose track of them. However, to locate your ship, tap its icon at the bottom center of your screen in map view, then hit “locate.” This will either take you to a system map or the galaxy map, depending on where your ship currently is.

Ship Power

Your ship power tells you how strong your ships are in combat. It’s like checking your car’s horsepower. Different factors, like research, officers, and ship upgrades, affect your ship’s power. To see it, select your ship, and you’ll find your ship strength, and the higher it is, the better equipped you are for battles.

Combat

To engage in battle, pick a target, scan to check your odds of winning, and then attack. The ship with the higher combat power usually comes out on top. Battles are short, lasting around 5-10 seconds, so make every second count.

Unlocking Your Second Ship

Once you’ve got the hang of things, it’s time for your second ship, the Orion Corvette. You can get it by completing the second research node in the combat tree, and you’ll have enough blueprints to build it. If you’re lucky, you might also find blueprints for it when battling hostiles at levels 7 to 11.

Star Trek Fleet Command Officers

Officers in Star Trek Fleet Command are the key to your ship’s performance, and you can’t send a ship into action without at least one Officer on board.

Officers

You can recruit new Officers using recruit tokens, and to access the Officers screen, Tap on the menu in the upper left corner of your screen and hit the Officers button.

Powering Up Your Officers

Officers can level up and become even more awesome over time. As they level up, they provide powerful bonuses to the ships they’re assigned to.

Common Officer Terms

Officers have their language. However, here are some terms you’ll want to know:

• Attack: Boosts your ship’s attack power.
• Defense: Increases your ship’s defense capabilities.
• Health: Gives your ship more hit points (SHP and HHP).
• Officer ability: Think of it as a superpower that activates when the Officer is on the ship’s bridge.
• Captain maneuver: This is a special, unique ability that kicks in when the Officer sits in the Captain’s Seat of a ship.

Bringing Officers On Board

To put Officers to work, tap on a ship, then tap “MANAGE” on the panel that appears. After that, tap “ASSIGN OFFICERS.”

However, you’ll need to recall your ship home before you can assign Officers to it. The next screen will show you how many slots are available on the ship. If there’s an empty slot, you can choose an Officer to fill it.

Boosting Captain’s Abilities

Some Officers work better together, and you’ll see this as a yellow lightning bolt. When you assign Officers from the same Synergy group to your ship’s bridge, they supercharge the Captain’s abilities.

Leveling Up And Promoting

Time to make your Officers even more formidable. Access an Officer’s detail page through the officer’s screen by tapping on their portrait.

• Level Up: You can increase their level by spending Officer XP. It’s like your character leveling up in a role-playing game.
• Promote: When you have enough shards of an Officer and resources, you can promote them.

Star Trek Fleet Command Resources

Resources are what keep your starbases running, your ships moving, and your crew happy.

Gathering Resources

Resources are the rewards you earn in the game, and you can get them in different ways.

Here’s how you can earn them:

• Mining: Send your ships out to space to gather resources.
• Completing Missions: By finishing missions, you’ll earn resources as rewards.
• Daily Goals: The game rewards you for playing regularly.
• Events and More: Special in-game events and activities also offer resource rewards.

Types Of Resources

Not all resources are the same; each serves a unique purpose in the game. Here are the primary resources you’ll encounter:

• Parsteel, Titanium, and Dilithium: These are your fundamental resources. It’s your “currency” for construction, research, and shipbuilding, and to get these resources regularly, you can build generator buildings in your starbase.
• Latinum: This one’s rare and valuable. It’s like gold in the game. You can use it to buy other resources or speed up construction times.
• Raw Crystal: Mine this in space and refine it in your refinery building to get refined crystals. They’re handy for upgrading ships, buildings, and technology.
• Refined Crystal: Just like raw crystals but more polished, you can use them for various upgrades and research.
• Raw Gas: This is another resource for upgrading ships, buildings, and tech.
• Refined Gas: These are like the processed version of raw gas, you can use them for upgrades and research too.
• Raw Ore: Gather it in space and refine it in your refinery building to get refined ore. It’s a vital resource for upgrades and research as well.
• Refined Ore: Similar to refined gas, refined ore is used to make your ships, buildings, and technology better.

Keeping Your Resources Safe

To protect your hard-earned resources from enemy attacks, store them in vaults. Building warehouses also increases your resource storage capacity.

Star Trek Fleet Command Station

Just like a home base in any adventure, your station is where you’ll manage your fleet, conduct research, recruit officers, and so much more.

Inside The Station

Your station’s interior is the brain of your operation. However, here’s what you can do inside:

• Operations: This is your command center. Upgrading it boosts your player level, unlocks new buildings, and increases your weapon damage bonus.
• Academy: Officers not assigned to ships hang out here. Recruit more officers, and boost your officer stats, upgrading the Academy
• R&D Department: Construct this building to research new technology. It unlocks bonuses for offense and defense, and some tech is essential for building ships or structures.
• Parsteel, Tritanium, and Dilithium Warehouses: These determine how much of each resource you can store. Once they’re full, you can’t collect more from resource generators.
• Parsteel, Tritanium, and Dilithium Generators: These create resources over time. Tap them to collect the generated resources and add them to your stockpile.
• Parsteel, Tritanium, and Dilithium Vaults: Vaults protect a specific amount of certain resources from enemy attacks.

Outside The Station

Your station’s exterior is where you strengthen your ships and station defenses. Here’s what’s out there:

• Defense Platform: These are your first line of defense against enemy attacks. They’re your security team. You can upgrade them using resources, and they’ll slowly repair any damage they sustain during combat.
• Drydock: Each drydock can house one ship, which can be deployed into space. Build more drydocks to use more ships for exploration. Upgrading a drydock speeds up ship repairs and reduces repair costs.

Station Combat

Once you reach Operations Level 15, you can engage in station combat.

When someone attacks your station, they’ll face off against your Defense Platforms and any combat-ready ships you have docked.

Ships being repaired, upgraded, or away during an attack can’t defend your base.

• Winning an Attack: If the attacker successfully destroys your station, their winning ship fills its cargo with resources from your station, while your resource vault contents stay protected.
• Losing an Attack: If the attacker fails to destroy your station, their ship is destroyed and sent back to their drydock for repairs.

Station Shields

Peace shields are force fields that prevent enemy ships from attacking your station. They run on a timer, like setting an alarm. You’ll get a free 10-minute peace shield after the first attack on your station, but it only activates once every 2 hours.

However, attacking another player’s ship or station disables your peace shield, regardless of the remaining time. You can manually activate a peace shield by tapping on the shield icon or by selecting a shield from your items. There are different shield durations, so choose wisely.
