Manchester United’s Paul Pogba is the next target for Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain in this summer of spending for the Parisiens and the French midfielder would be keen on a move to Paris.
Pogba is one of the Red Devils’ players that has been regularly linked with a move away from the club since he joined them from Juventus. It appears that his return to Old Trafford hasn’t panned out exactly as fans expected.
And in this regard, this summer is no different with L’Equpe reporting that PSG are eying a move for him as Mauricio Pochettino and his superiors at the club continue to identify targets that will enhance their chances of success in the UEFA Champions League.
The Parisiens have already sealed deals for Georgino Wijnaldum, Gianluigi Donnarumma, and Achraf Hakimi this summer. The deal for Sergio Ramos is also close to completion and this has enabled them to turn their eyes towards Paul Pogba.
According to the French publication, it would cost PSG between €50m and €60m (£43m-£51m) to seal Pogba’s signature and the move is something that may excite the Frenchman as he is reportedly enticed by the idea of playing in Paris.
It can be recalled that the midfielder revealed that he had not received any offers about a month ago with regards to interest from an external club or a renewal from Man United. However, reports suggest that he would welcome an offer from the Ligue 1 giants.
PSG believe that the dream of a UCL triumph can be actualized with Mauricio Pochettino in charge although it didn’t work out last season. The 2020/21 season is one they would want to forget in a hurry as they lost out of the UCL in the semifinals and also lost the Ligue 1 to Lille.
With the expenditure made thus far, it seems that they are prioritizing success in the UCL, as well as a reclaiming of the Ligue 1 title.
