Aston Villa will have another season to prove if they’re a fit for England’s elite football league after they drew 1 all against West Ham at the London Stadium to survive a relegation scare.
Villa boss Dean Smith has now disclosed that Jack Grealish’s future at Villa Park will be decided next month and that will be the time when the sides interested in the midfielder can make their move for him.
Manchester United have been heavily linked with a move for the playmaker and may move to sign him this summer although Villa survived for another season in the Premier League.
Grealish played his part in their survival and may have given the ideal parting present with his opening goal in the draw against the Hammers during the weekend as 1 point was enough to see them make the 17th position on the log and secure Premier League safety.
Man United were reportedly waiting to see if they would make the Ucl before deciding on any major summer acquisitions. After sealing UCL qualification on the final day, it’s likely they’ll make the Grealish deal a priority.
“I said to him he would come to the party and score,” Smith said “He has been getting better and better. He has come good when he needed to.
“It (his future) will all be sorted over the next month. Tonight we will enjoy a magnificent achievement. It feels better than when we went up through the play-offs.”
The 2020 summer transfer window will shut on October 5. However, clubs will be allowed to trade for players with EFL clubs until October 16.
Aston Villa made a lot of signings after their promotion but the season didn’t go as planned with their acquisitions. It would have been a disaster if they had sunk back into the Championship. Regardless, Jack Grealish may not be with them next season and punters will place bets on it.
